5 DIY Stained Glass Valentine’s Gift Ideas

The day of love is quickly approaching. If you’re looking for a DIY stained glass craft to make for yourself or as a gift for someone else, this list is for you.

I’ve created a handful of Valentine’s stained glass projects to share with you so that you can make your own. Some of these projects have tutorials along with them, as well as patterns and other resources you’ll need.

I hope you enjoy these ideas, and even if you don’t create any of them yourself, maybe they can spark some creative ideas <3. Happy season of love to you!

Stained Glass Rose Plant Stake

What’s better than a rose for Valentine’s day? A glass rose!

This is another simple project, but does take more time and materials. If you’ve never created a stained glass plant stake before I break it all down in this DIY tutorial.

These are two separate patterns, an open rose pattern, and a closed rose pattern. The open rose pattern is more difficult and does require a ring saw. The closed rose pattern is much easier to create and does not require anything but a standard grinder. (Or whatever you use to smooth out your glass)

The only extra supplies required in this project are 3mm copper rods

Classic Stained Glass Heart Candle Holder

If you’re wanting to make a project that can be used as Valentine’s decor to spruce up a space around the special holiday, then a candle holder is a great option.

This stained glass pattern has a classic look, and can be used with a mix of colors to make it even more so.

Not sure how to make a stained glass candle holder? No worries! I have an in-depth tutorial that also includes a video demonstration.

Simple Valentines Rainbow Maker

For the simplest of simple projects you can always resort to creating a stained glass rainbow maker. These pretty little pieces take hardly any time to make and people (including myself) love them for the burst of rainbow colors they shed across a room.

I personally always have one of these hanging in my shop window at all times, so making them for each holiday/season is a no-brainer.

If you’re an artist that sells at a local shop or market, these are also a great product to offer at a lower price-point.

In this tutorial I break down how to create a custom rainbow maker chain with a full list of the supplies you’ll need.

Hearts Rearview Window Dangle

This little rearview mirror dangle is a cute gift that can be displayed all-year-round, and is super simple to create. It is created using Vitrea 160 glass paint and other standard stained glass supplies.

If you’re interested in making your own stained glass hearts as a Valentine’s gift for yourself or someone else, you can see the tutorial here

The one shown is what I made for my stepmother with her and my dads initials and she loved it!

LGBTQ Hearts

Of course I can’t leave out the beautiful LGBTQ community on the day of love <3

If you’re looking for something to make for yourself or others that incorporates the rainbow, I’ve created this free rainbow hearts pattern
